An Exorcism of Painting
This sculpture was created out of materials generated from a series of failed paintings. The frustration of painting and repainting the same canvases led to a amassing a large amount of muslin cleaning rags and dried paint scrapings, along with the realization that releasing the character that I’d been obsessed with from its two dimensional space might also allow me to liberate myself from feeling required to continue to paint.
